Julian Rosefeldt - Clown

Today, a rapid article on the installation Clown of Julian Rosefeldt, (2005).

Like ! Like! Like! Not other feeling if not other than love at the first sight for this photo that is suddenly appeared in front of me while I was walking tired and hungry among the stands at the inauguration of Altissima 2009 in Turin.
It was impossibile not to notice the shoot: a clown who wanders about in the rainforest!
Looking for the author I found out that he is German, Berlin-based, studied architecture and his name is Julian Rosefeldt. He is known for his multi-channel film installations, such as Stunned Man, the Soundmaker, the Perfectionist, also named Trilogy of Failure (2004-06). His installations are mise-en-scène in which stereotype daily-life behaviours are mixed with fiction. The shoot I saw also belongs to an installation in which in a damp and sultry rainforest a clown appears climbing through the rocky path of a stream, disappearing in and out into the forest. For the artist the Clown is a metaphorical figure, the clown is a non sense character who represents in a comic way the human condition and that he is putted by Rosefeldt in an absurd background. Through his works the artist tries to shows certain stereotypes of human life and wander about its meaning or the absence of it.

É principalmente conosciuto per le sue film-installazioni multi canale, come Stunned Man, the Soundmaker, the Perfectionist, anche chiamate Trilogy of Failure (2004-06).
